To commemorate my one-year anniversary at AP (if you were hearing me say this, the sarcasm dripping from my voice would smother you), I just got a phone call from our music editor. We got our first print runs of the next issue today, and while no one noticed all day long, the COVER STAR'S LAST NAME IS SPELLED WRONG. ON.THE.COVER.
And while I can't yet reveal on a public forum who's on the cover, this is very bad.
The good news? This particular issue happens to be a split cover with two different bands, meaning the spelling error is only on half the issues.
The bad news? That's really not actually good news.
I can't believe on my year anniversary as the COPY EDITOR, there is a ginormous error ON.THE.COVER. I mean, to be fair, 20 people saw this cover, many of us multiple, multiple times, and no one caught it then, and it took almost 12 hours of having the physical magazine in hand for anyone to notice. Somehow, that info isn't helping me keep my dinner down at the moment.
I'm going to go drown my sorrows in my advance copy of Ugly Betty season one. What was I thinking by not watching this show until it was out on DVD? It's pretty amazing.
